Planning a Destination Wedding? How to Get Your Dress There
Share
Our dresses have been sold all over the world - from England and America to Hawaii, the Middle East, Japan and Australia. Whether you live abroad or are marrying far from home, here is how to plan for your dress.
Order early
We recommend ordering at least five to six months before your wedding. For destination weddings, build in a little extra time for international delivery and for travelling with the dress.
Have it delivered where it makes sense
Every Aeternum gown comes with free tracked delivery worldwide. You can have the dress sent to your home and travel with it, or, if you live abroad, delivered straight to you. Once your dress is ready, UK delivery typically takes around three days; international delivery may take a little longer, and we confirm timings for your location.
Know about import charges
If your dress is delivered outside the UK, your country may charge import duties, taxes and customs fees when it arrives. These are set by your country, are not included in the price, and are usually paid to the courier before delivery. Your local customs office can tell you what to expect. See our shipping policy for full details.
Travelling with your dress
- Carry it on. Never check your wedding dress into the hold. Ask the airline in advance about hanging space.
- Use a breathable garment bag. Avoid plastic, which can trap moisture.
- Unpack on arrival. Hang the dress somewhere cool and let creases drop out. A professional steam is the safest way to remove any stubborn ones.
Choose a dress for the climate
Hot destinations suit lighter fabrics such as chiffon and soft tulle, open backs and sheath or A-line shapes. Cooler venues suit long sleeves, satin and heavier lace.
